This embedded system is utilized for motion analysis communicating sampled acceleration and rotation wirelessly within a network. This system is autonomous in that it is small in size, 2"x1.25", sleep state circuitry, battery powered (rechargeable via USB), and is USB programmable (no hardware programmer neccessary).
Wireless communication is versatile being able to communicate with many similar devices, PC, smart phones( ANT+ compatible) including Android and Apple. The communication is handled through a 2.4GHz transceiver utilizing the ANT protocol.

The development of the USB FPGA has been geared toward an open hardware platform solving small general computing solutions. The Xilinx XC3S250E FPGA supports both 8 bit(picoblaze) and 32 bit(microblaze) microcontrollers. USB FPGA supports hardware configuration through JTAG, SPI, and Slave Parallel. Slave parallel configuration through USB makes developement of the board free and easy once the complete programming chain is in place. All design files with the Open Hardware License by TAPR makes it possible to produce this hardware rapidly and in quantity.

Here is a multi MCU gang programmer, customer's board loaded, designed to program the manufactured board. The boards are bolt-on electronics,which increase combustion engine performance via fuel injection profile shaping. ER's design utilized Open Source BDM for programming, simple electronics, and easy mechanical layout to incorporate two different manufacturer's MCU's for programming, and 16 test points on this single board. This prevented the customer from having to solder and desolder two different harnesses while also eliminating an expensive proprietary MCU programmer.
